Three shows suitable for beginners in learning German!

Updated: Oct 30

If you like to learn German by watching shows- we have good news!

There are three fun, simple and completely free series that are perfect for beginners.

In them, you follow lovable heroes in everyday situations, with whom you will not only learn useful phrases and expressions, but you will also feel what life in Germany looks like.

"Nemacki Svuda" brings you today a list of series that will help you have fun and learn German at the same time!

Mein Weg nach Deutschland

     (My Trip to Germany)

Woman on a bus gazes out the window, a man in the background smiles. Text: "Folge 1 Im Bus" and "GOETHE INSTITUT." Bright, calm mood.

This series of eight short episodes follows a young Turkish woman, Nevin, who has just moved to Germany. You get to know her as she tries to navigate everyday situations - from buying a bus ticket, going to the grocery store, to getting her first job.

The series is a great way to learn basic phrases and words from everyday life. In addition, it shows the German culture, mentality and practical aspects of life in Germany.

 Nicos Weg

 (Nicos Way)

One of the best, in my opinion, online series for learning German. The story follows a young Spaniard, who, like you, encounters the language for the first time and overcomes all language barriers step by step in very cute scenes from everyday life. The series is suitable for all levels from A1 to B1 and in over seventy five minute episodes, it offers a handful of online exercises, which will help you and of course be fun.

Nicos Weg is designed as a free course on the DW (Deutsche Welle) website with over 14,000 tasks in German related to the watched material. The series is an absolute recommendation!

Extra auf Deutsch

(Extra on German)

Four people sit on a couch, showing varied expressions. Colorful text reads EXTR@ AUF DEUTSCH. The room has a lively, cozy vibe.

Conceived as a kind of counterpart to the American series "Friends". The series follows, in 13 episodes, the adventures of four friends in whose life enters a young, handsome and beautiful American who, you guessed it, does not speak German.

It is based on fast and light humor and the life dynamics of a group of friends.

Each episode is characterized by simplistic grammar and very slow speech that takes nothing away from the wit of the main characters. The series is subtitled and suitable for people who are at A2 level or above.
