People from Serbia who stay and live in Germany generally agree on one thing. German food is not good for them, tasteless and lukewarm. Now, if you were wondering if it was like that in the past, well, it's not. Germans, like most in Europe, enjoy pizza, pasta and lasagna the most. If you're craving kebabs or burek, you can certainly find them in one of the big cities in Germany. But there is another side of the medallion, and it is very tasty. I would like to introduce you to 5 specialties typical of the German-speaking area.
Currywurst mit Pommes und Ketchup
Ovo remek delo nemačke fast food industrije pandan srpskoj pljeskavici je najpopularnije jelo u Nemačkoj. Brzo i jednostavno. To nije nista drugo nego kobasica uglavnom svinjska posuta kari začinom, prelivena kečapom i kao prilog dobijete pomfrit a ponegde samo zemičku. Najbolju Karivurst možete naći u samom Berlinu a kiosk se zove ,, Konnopkes Imbiss". Probajte!

2. Döner Kebab
This masterpiece of the German fast food industry, the counterpart to the Serbian burger, is the most popular dish in Germany. Quick and easy.
It is nothing more than mostly pork sausage sprinkled with curry spice, topped with ketchup, and as a side dish you get fries and sometimes just a bun. You can find the best currywurst in Berlin itself, and the kiosk is called "Konnopkes Imbiss". Try it!

There are of course now vegan and vegetarian options in front of whose kiosks
lines are now forming.
3. Bratkartoffeln mit Speck
(fried potatoes with bacon)
All German grandmothers used to prepare this dish for their grandchildren, hence its popularity, but you should not forget that the dish is very simple and that potatoes are everywhere in Germany, and indeed, next to sauerkraut and asparagus, it is one of the most popular foods. It's fried potatoes cut into rings with onions and bacon, it's very tasty and lecker. It is mostly served, you guessed it, with beer.

4.Braten mit Klößen
(Roast with dumplings)
Dumplings (Knödel or Klöße) are steamed sometimes from potatoes, but mostly from leftover bread, sometimes stuffed, boiled then cut and fried.

They are a traditional German dish that never goes out of style, as they make a comeback as a side dish in hearty meals around Christmas or at the latest during the cold winter months! Germans love their traditional dish and usually serve it with roast pork.
5. Brezeln mit Butter
(Pretzel with Butter)
The good old Germans are known for their dough and bread, and the most popular pastry that goes well with their traditional beer is pretzels stuffed or coated with butter.

You have seen that German cuisine is traditional, but there is more and more influence of other cultures in German cooking in recent decades.
I hope that you enjoyed it and that you will try something from this at the first opportunity, until then. Mahlzeit!
